Florida Youth Firesetter Intervention Network
This organization was founded in 2024 by fire service professionals to help reduce the injuries and deaths from youth firesetting behavior in the State of Florida. Our mission is to implement three (3) goals towards youth firesetting intervention. First, to develop a certification process and exam testing for Intervention Specialists and Program Managers. Second, to provide educational resources to fire and law enforcement personnel who specialize in
youth firesetting and to caregivers of youth firesetters. Third, provide caregivers with contact
information on statewide youth firesetter intervention programs.
FYFIN Executive Director
Dale I. Reisen retired from the fire service in 2020 after dedicating 37 years to the State of Florida. He is a certified Fire-Arson Investigator and has been investigating fires and explosions involving youths since 1995. He is a certified Youth Firesetter Intervention Specialists and Program Manager and has assisted fire departments to develop their youth firesetter intervention programs. He is a fire service instructor and teaches the Florida Youth Firesetter Intervention Specialist and Program Manager Course. In 2001, he was awarded the State of Florida Fire Investigator of the Year by FFMIA and in 2013 and 2020 his fellow fire investigators named him Fire Investigator of the Year in Lee County, Florida. He is one of the co-founders of the Lee County Fire-Arson Task Force and was their Task Force Commander for 17 years. He is listed as a fire causation expert and youth firesetter expert in the judicial system. He is the Operating Manager for Reisen Fire Consultants, LLC, and has been featured on several true crime podcasts consulting on fire scenes. He is currently a consulting expert in his field for law firms throughout United States.
